Congratulations to Amanda and the class of 2012! We were on board to celebrate her graduation from high school at her home in Canton, MI. It was a hot, humid summer afternoon…but it was WORTH IT! People young and old had a great time rocking out to the summer’s biggest hits mixed in with a few oldies and goodies.

And again, it’s because of people like our friend Cheryl that made this event possible. Referrals are a wonderful thing and we appreciate people like Cheryl that keep the love alive for Motor City HDJ!

These two folks epitomize what it means to have fun. And this was a very special event all around.

This was another ceremony/reception held at the same venue which was the Multi-Lakes Conservation Association in Commerce Township, MI. This rustic location truly defines the meaning of “Pure Michigan.”

The bridal party entered the reception to "Forever" by Chris Brown. The bride & groom left that one up to us and it’s a fun way to enter so we said, “why not?”

After dinner, Kelly & Mike shared their first dance to Jack Johnson’s hit “Better Together.” The groom and his mother danced to “Forever Young” by Rod Stewart. The bouquet and garter tosses were a hit…"Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" by Beyonce and "Oh Yeah" by Yello were the choices for the two events respectively.

The crowd was hot the entire night! Kelly, Mike, and their guests danced to a huge assortment of top 40 and dance hits. We even got to slip a little dubstep in there. What a night!

All of that is well and good, but the most special moment of the night was the moment that Kelly shared with her dad Jack. Jack faced a very long battle with cancer, but was able to muster up enough energy to share a dance with Kelly, his wife, and their son together as a family.

At the time of this posting, Jack lost his battle with cancer and passed away on August 7, 2012 at 3:57 PM with Kelly and his wife by his side.

Jack, we were honored that you enjoyed yourself that night. I promise you that Tom and I will always raise awareness for cancer research. We will do our very best to support the fight.

Kelly and Mike: thank you for letting us share such a wonderful and memorable day with you, your friends, your family, and our biggest fan Jack Truesdell.

It’s been a busy weekend for Motor City HDJ, but what a way to wrap it up! We love playing for family and Samantha’s graduation party was off the hook! The party was at the beautiful Island Lake of Novi and the day was absolutely perfect! Congratulations to ALL of our friends graduating as part of the class of 2012!

Thanks for letting us party with you, cousin!

First it was her sweet 16 and 2 years later she graduated from high school. So, who did her mom call to help throw the party? US!

That’s right…we were able to be on hand to celebrate with Taylor, her mom Yvette, and all of her friends from graduating with the class of 2012. It was an absolute blast of a day and we know that we’ll be around when her sister has her sweet 16 and graduation.

Taylor, Yvette, Jeff…the whole gang…they’re the reason we love this business! Thanks for having us along for your special day, Tay!

Today marked the 3rd time Motor City HDJ has been involved with the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society of Michigan’s annual Gala Event fundraiser. It’s always a thrill to be involved with this great cause to raise money in hopes of finding a cure for blood cancers. I have been the auctioneer for this event and every year it seems we raise more and more money to find a cure.
