This one was a whirlwind for us…and we are thankful!

We literally met Blanca and Jeff while we were setting up at the Grecian Center in Southgate, MI for another wedding. Fortunately for us, they hadn’t found a DJ yet and we were there to save the day.

This was a fun wedding because it was small and cozy. The party had roughly 75 people, and even better, we got to work with Eileen, Laverne, and the rest of the crew at the Grecian’s Apollo Room.

Lots of red filled the room for this beautiful occasion. The bride and groom shared their first dance to “Yo te amo” by Chayanne. After that, the bride and her brother danced to “My Wish”by Rascal Flatts. Then, the groom and his mother danced to “Sweet Dreams” by Heart.

We also got to meet J Reid of Creative Photos. She and her partner were such a blast to work with. We’re excited for more opportunities to work with them down the road.

All in all, this was a lot of fun and we’re glad that it came together so quickly! We wish Blanca and Jeff the very best for the future! Thanks for letting us share your special day!

Gina and Steve brought us along to celebrate their big day at The Henry Ford in Dearborn, MI. This was the second time this year that we’ve played here and we love working with Marcus and his crew.

This was the biggest of the weddings we’ve played this year with roughly 250 people in attendance. The event was stunning and regal with the color scheme as a beautiful lime green and brown all over.

The bride and groom impressed everyone with their choreographed first dance to Dave Matthew’s “You and Me.” After that, the groom and his mom danced to IZ’s “Over the Rainbow.” Then, Gina and her dad danced to Heartland’s “I Loved Her First.”

We also had the opportunity to meet other new vendors at this event, as well.

Jason Samkowiak of JS Photography was very responsive to the needs of the bride and groom and was prompt at capturing all events of the night. He was constantly in tune with me to make sure everyone was on the same page. We were impressed with him even more when he had a photo gallery already on display as the reception started.

We also reconnected with our old friend Shon Murphy and the gang at Fairytale Productions. Their team was very active at engaging with the guests throughout the night to make sure that every little moment was documented.

What a great night! Congratulations again to Gina & Steve!
Today we celebrated with our friends Shelley and David. And this is just one more case of Motor City HDJ working with friends. Both Tom and Brett have been friends with David for almost 4 years now. And when David asked us to DJ his wedding, we immediately said YES!

The wedding was at the Grecian Center‘s Apollo Room in Southgate, MI. This was the second time this year that we’ve played here and we absolutely love Eileen and her staff of the Grecian!

The bride and groom chose a marine blue and white color scheme that was defined and classy. The wedding party was quaint: not too big, not too small.

After Shelley and David shared their first dance, the bride and her dad danced to Bob Carlisle’s “Butterfly Kisses.” After that David and his mom danced to “A Song for Mama” by Boyz II Men.

We got to meet Sue and her gang from KloosPix. This was the first time working with her and needless to say we were impressed! Sue was very personable, friendly, and easy to work with. I think she LITERALLY took a picture of every single moment of that night. She didn’t miss a single thing. We highly recommend her if you need photography for your event.

We wish the very best for Shelley and David for years to come! Thanks again for letting us be a part of your special day!

The first wedding of November was for our friend Missy and her new husband Joe. Missy and Brett have been friends since their time at Quicken Loans together.

The reception brought us to the Eagle Eye Golf Course in Bath, MI which is near East Lansing. Missy and Joe chose a wine and damask color scheme that was absolutely stunning, radiant, and elegant. The setting was in the clubhouse of the golf course that overlooks the back 9.

The bride and groom danced to “Be Mine” by David Gray. Missy and her dad danced to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland. Joe and his mom danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts. The bridal party danced to “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz.

Congratulations once again to Missy and Joe!
